For nearly 35 years, Sam Bisel has dedicated his life to serving his community through the fire service. He spent 28 years with the Geneva Volunteer Fire Department and has proudly served as the Fire Chief of the Nottingham Fire Department for the past 10 years. Sam has answered thousands of calls, protected countless families, and given everything he has to the people around him.

Now, Sam and his family need support.

On June 9th, Sam was diagnosed with bladder cancer. He underwent his first surgery on June 27th to remove the tumor, and everyone prayed it would be the end of this battle. Sadly, recent scans have revealed six additional bladder cancer tumors. Because the cancer has returned in less than six months, Sam will now require chemotherapy treatments.

This has been incredibly difficult physically and emotionally. Between medical bills, travel, treatment expenses, time away from work, and ongoing care, the needs are growing quickly. Sam has spent his entire adult life helping others—he is not someone who asks for anything in return—but this fight is bigger than anything he can face alone.

We are asking for donations of any size to help relieve the financial stress on Sam and his family as he focuses on healing. Your support will go directly toward medical costs, transportation, and living expenses during treatment.

Sam is a husband, father, grandfather, friend, and respected leader in the fire community. He has a long road ahead, but anyone who knows Sam knows he is strong, faithful, and determined to beat this.
