Support Sam and her boys after heartbreaking loss.

Dear friends,

I want to take a moment to share the story of a truly remarkable woman who needs our help. My dear friend Samantha August is a single mother navigating an incredibly challenging time. This morning, she lost her beloved mother after a heartbreaking 53-day battle in the hospital. Her mom left their home on Christmas Eve and never came back.

This loss has left a void in her life that words can hardly describe. Sam is raising two wonderful boys: her nonverbal autistic son, who will be turning 6 in just a few days, and her spirited 4-year-old, who will celebrate his 5th birthday in June. With the passing of her mother, who played a crucial role in their lives both emotionally and financially, Sam is now facing the daunting task of providing for her family on her own without any support.

If you ever had the chance to know Sam, you know how hardworking she is and how she never asks for help. I have had to force her to take my help over these last 53 days. She works as a full-time esthetician at European Wax Center and Uber Eats with any of the little free time she has just so she can provide for her boys. I've never seen a more hardworking and loving mother. She has been through so much; from losing her father to a long, hard battle with lung cancer at just age 17, and now losing her mother at age 31.

She has fought so many additional silent battles that I won't share, but despite her various hardships, she wakes up every day with a smile and even has gone out of her way to be there for me when I needed her.
