For Salman, Ashley, and the Kabuki Sushi team
On March 14, 2025, Salman and Ashley opened Kabuki Sushi in Flint and quickly became a bright light in the community. Through hard work, care, and dedication, Salman, Ashley, and their staff served people diligently and safely while building a thriving business from the ground up. They did more than run a restaurant. They showed up for Flint in meaningful ways, including offering free and discounted meals to people affected by cuts to food assistance like FAP and SNAP. At a time when many were struggling, they gave their own time, energy, and money to help others eat and feel supported.
Now Salman, the owner and head chef, along with other crew members, have been taken by ICE, and the families connected to Kabuki Sushi are facing a painful and uncertain time. This fundraiser is to help support family members, cover travel costs for loved ones making three-hour trips to visit them, help with legal expenses, and provide money on their books while they are away. Salman, Ashley, and this team have consistently supported the community, and those who know them believe they are nowhere near criminals. They have worked hard, built something special, and deserve support right now. Please give what you can and help stand with Salman, Ashley, and the Kabuki Sushi team during this crisis.
