Support Sally: Rebuild After the Hope Fire
Donation protected
On Tuesday, July 8, the Hope fire tore through our beloved neighbor Sally Shaffer’s property, destroying both her home and the Crown Creek Saloon — a landmark she and her late husband, Steve, built together in 2001.
Sally was able to evacuate safely, but she has lost everything.
This loss is unimaginable. Sally is not just our neighbor — she’s family to all of us at Bull Hill and in our wider community.
Sally has faced heartbreak before. Just last year, she lost her husband Steve, a proud Vietnam veteran and the love of her life. Together, they poured their hearts into building the life they shared — and now, in the blink of an eye, the home and business they built together are gone.
We’re asking for your help to support Sally in this time of need. Every dollar raised will go directly toward helping her get back on her feet — replacing essential items, securing temporary housing, and beginning the long process of rebuilding.
If you’ve ever danced at the Crown Creek Saloon, shared a drink with Sally and Steve, or simply believe in helping someone who’s lost so much — please consider donating and sharing this campaign.
Let’s show Sally that she’s not alone. Let’s help her rebuild.
With gratitude,
