Today, I come to you all asking for love and financial support as one of our favorite people begins the fight of her life. Anything Helps.

Just before winter, Saletta received the news you never want to hear, a diagnosis of late-stage colon cancer. On the very same day she started a brand-new job, full of hope for a fresh chapter in her life, her world has been turned upside down.

Saletta is not only a cherished friend of over 20 years, she’s also a devoted single mom to her daughter, Alex, who is now a standout student and junior in high school. Alex and Saletta live in Northern Virginia outside DC and she has worked tirelessly to give her the best opportunities for her future. Alex depends solely on her mom’s love, guidance, cheerleading and support. Now, as she begins both radiation and chemotherapy, her ability to continue working and providing for Alex is uncertain.

Letta has always been the friend that so many of us call on. She is the one who uplifts others, builds community, and gives selflessly. Now, it’s our turn to show up for her.

Saletta’s story is so much bigger than this diagnosis. For more than two decades, she has been the heartbeat of a global movement in the roller skating community. She is the Founder curator of the beloved “Soul Roll Invitational” event in Tampa, (now in its 20th year), has grown into an annual celebration that draws people from across the country. Through her vision and passion, she built a space where thousands of people could escape life’s challenges, connect, and create lifelong memories. In Washington DC, she produced the now iconic LEGENDS in the Sky and LEGENDS Heels, Hats and Wheels Gala, Capital Skate Fest and other events in venues around the country, each one leaving her unique mark of fun, friendship, and culture.

Saletta has spent the bulk of her career in the travel industry. In 2023 she went to work for the Jordanian government in the Middle East. Saletta loved traveling a remote part of the word to encourage tourism to Petra, Wadi Rum and sites where Moses walked and Jesus was Baptized! In 2024, conflict erupted on the Gaza Strip and a WAR a world away took her dream job out of her hands again.

Immediately, she created another space where she began bidding and winning government contracts to support Alex and herself! ABIDADAY.com was born, and she published a book to help teach the business of other government contracts to others. Saletta would like to continue to work and this is one of the best avenues for her to do that at home. Just purchasing her book and sharing it with others would help support her business. Sharing the link to her book along with her story could be a game changer that demonstrates her talent! Saletta is looking for organizations that offer training in hopes that she could continue to sell the edition of the book that has been written for educational institutions!

This GoFundMe has been created to help ease the financial burden of medical expenses, school fees for Alex, daily living needs, food, transportation to and from Chemo treatments, and the many unexpected costs that come with battling cancer. The medical expenses will continue to grow, and at a time like this, I am hoping that Saletta will be able focus on her health, not all of the bills piling up.

I write this as a former caretaker to my husband who was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer at 40, I had 3 boys under 10 years old and the only income provider while caretaking. I understand the burden that a family will go through. Especially a single mother who handles it all.
