We have created this fundraiser for the Ortiz Family as they are living every parent's worst nightmare.
Our cousin, Santiago, is a 19 year old young man who was involved in school and had recently started his first Electrician Apprentice job 2 weeks ago. But, on March 17, 2024 we received the news that what seemed to be a “UTI” ended up being Leukemia. Between Saturday March 16th to Tuesday March 19, 2024 Santiago went into a life threatening brain surgery that did not go well, but then a miracle happened and Santiago's willingness to fight brought him back to us. Due to all of the complications during the surgery, he now has to overcome the effects due to the complications . This now requires a lot of physical therapy for him to be able to regain mobility and recover his speech. Even though he is receiving the best medical care at a Children's Hospital in Boston, he will be there for the foreseeable future . For the next 2-3 years he will need to receive treatments to fight off this terrible disease . His parents will need financial help during this time for medical expenses and to keep everything afloat and will also be taking turns staying at the hospital with him, while the other parent drives from Boston to Nashua every day to care for Santiago's younger sibling.
Any contributions will go towards medical expenses, treatments, travel, and any unforeseen expenses that come forward. Santiago will be in the hospital for some time, while receiving treatment. They will re-evaluate him at a later time, to see if he can continue treatment at home.
Thank you for considering a donation to support Santi’s Leukemia battle. Any amount can help, big or small, and will have a very big impact on him and his family. Please keep him and his family in your prayers, as they battle this disease together. Thank you!
