Hey everyone. I hate asking for favors, but I really need the help of my community now more than ever. For those who don’t know my puppy Saint, her litter was found in the woods when she was about 4 weeks old. Since then, I fostered her and ended up adopting her about a month ago. She is the absolute best dog I could ever ask for.
Anyways, on May 6th, she got spayed at a facility in Birmingham. Her recovery was going fine until the 10th of May, when she started throwing up and had bad diarrhea. She wouldn’t eat, wouldn’t play, and just was not the same dog she was 24 hours before. I took her to a pet urgent care, got some meds, and took her home. When the meds showed no improvement, I took her to a clinic where she tested positive for Canine Parvovirus. If you want to read more about Parvo, click this link https://www.avma.org/resources-tools/pet-owners/petcare/canine-parvovirus.
It was revealed to me that she likely contracted the disease at the surgical center where she got spayed, and that this is not the first time something like this has been reported there.
Not long after the positive test, I decided to hospitalize Saint. This comes at no cheap cost. I have been cutting my friends' hair in order to support having a puppy, but with this diagnosis, I really do need some help. With proper care, the vet gave Saint a 50/50 chance at recovery. If you can’t donate, then it’s okay, just please keep her in your prayers.
