Please help support Saifan and her caregivers as they navigate her cancer treatment, stem cell transplant, and recovery.

In April, Saifan was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She was hospitalized at NYU Langone and began chemo treatment the same day as her diagnosis.

This treatment lasted five weeks. Unfortunately, it was not enough to achieve remission, and Saifan was discharged and began an outpatient treatment at the Perlmutter Cancer Clinic. After two cycles of treatment with some breaks in between for rest and recovery, it was discovered that the cancer had relapsed.

In August, Saifan enrolled in a clinical trial treatment, which she is still undergoing.

Throughout this journey so far, there have been several hospitalizations, many ups and downs, second opinions, complications, and so much love and support from so many people.

As treatment continues, the goal is to get Saifan to a state of deep remission that allows her to enter the transplant phase as healthy and robust as possible. Saifan’s siblings were tested, and her sister Kahlia was identified as the most compatible match and will be her stem cell donor.
