My mom, Saghi Atkinson, was diagnosed with colon cancer about a year and a half ago. Since then, her journey has been a true rollercoaster — filled with ups, downs, and moments of both fear and hope. She has undergone multiple surgeries, completed rounds of chemotherapy, and is now participating in a clinical trial.

Throughout this battle, my mom has shown incredible strength and grace. She is a middle school teacher and has been devoted to her students. Even on her hardest days, she continues to smile and stay positive for everyone around her. But as many families facing cancer know, the emotional toll is only part of the struggle — the financial burden can be overwhelming. Between mounting medical bills, travel costs for treatments, and loss of income, the expenses have become more than we can manage alone.

I’m starting this GoFundMe to help ease some of the financial strain so my mom can focus fully on healing and staying strong.
