Support Sage During Top Surgery Recovery

Hi all,

My name is Sage and I am a trans man living in the southern US. I am currently scheduled for gender-affirming surgery in mid-September, which I am incredibly excited and grateful for. However, I need assistance in covering the financial costs.

My hope was to undergo this surgery a bit later so that I could save up more money and paid leave at work. However, given the current administration's attacks on trans healthcare, I am worried about the increasing likelihood that gender-affirming surgery in the US will become extremely expensive at best and inaccessible at worst. As a result, I will be undergoing this surgery at a time when I have almost no sick leave and a small amount of savings. I am very fortunate to have protection for my job as well as short-term disability insurance. However, the latter will only cover the latter four weeks of my mandated six weeks of leave, and it will only pay me a portion of my income.

Any amount of help I receive would be amazing, but I am hoping to raise $3100: $2000 to cover lost income, and $1100 to help with the out-of-pocket cost of surgery itself.
