Over the past two years, Saffron, also known as Saffy, has gone from a semi-feral cat barely surviving on his own to a beloved family member. He was rescued by my dear friend, April, who saw his struggle and gave him the love and safety he needed. Saffy repaid her kindness by becoming her constant companion, bringing joy and comfort when it seemed like the world was too hard.

Unfortunately, this sweet boy has recently been struggling with life-threatening health issues. Over the past month, Saffy has been in and out of the ER and veterinary clinics. He was hospitalized in late March for a life-threatening condition, and his recovery has been an emotional roller coaster. Despite the best care possible, he’s now struggling again, and the road ahead is uncertain.

Saffy has been diagnosed with FLUTD and urinary blockages, a condition that can be fatal if not treated within just 2-3 days. Saffy’s doctors have said another blockage is imminent and when this happens, he will need surgery at that time. The only way to decrease the chance of these blockages from re-occurring in the future and to give Saffy a better quality of life is a Perineal Urethrostomy (PU) surgery. However, the cost of the surgery is beyond what April can manage on her own, and having the funds available to save his life after his next blockage is critical.

Saffron’s treatment bills have already reached nearly $7,000, and the surgery will cost an additional $5,000 to $7,000. She is doing her very best to pay off the bills already accrued and prepare the inevitable surgery. April has poured everything into helping her sweet boy, but the financial burden is too great, and we are asking for your support.
