Every mother deserves a safe pregnancy. Every child deserves a healthy start to life.
However, in many rural communities in northern Ghana, access to basic maternal and child healthcare is still limited, not because solutions don’t exist, but because access to resources is limited.
My name is Ali Nosseir, and I am an aspiring medical student and a graduate of UCLA. I started this fundraiser to support community-based healthcare efforts that strengthen maternal and child care in underserved regions. These donations will directly support a maternal and child health capacity-building project led by MamaCare-Ghana, a trusted, locally rooted nonprofit that has been empowering women and strengthening community health systems for nearly three decades.
In remote communities, community midwives and community health nurses are often the only healthcare providers available to pregnant women and young children. With proper training and essential supplies, these health workers can identify complications early, prevent avoidable deaths, and support mothers before, during, and after childbirth.
This campaign will directly fund:
- Training for 50 community midwives in basic maternal care, emergency recognition, safe referrals, nutrition, family planning, and prevention of mother-to-child HIV transmission.
- Training and support for 25–30 community health nurses, strengthening frontline care at health posts.
- 50 Mother-Child Health Kits, each capable of supporting care for up to 10 mothers and 10 children for a full year.
- Educational tools and supplies that help health workers counsel families on pregnancy, infant nutrition, and family planning.
Together, these efforts are expected to directly benefit 500 mothers and 500 children, while creating long-term impact through equipment and skills that remain in the community for years to come.
Every contribution, no matter the size, helps bring safer births, healthier children, and stronger communities within reach. Transparency matters to me. If you choose to leave your contact information when donating, I will personally share updates showing exactly where funds are going, including how donations are used for training, medical kits, and direct support for mothers, children, and community health workers.
Thank you for standing with mothers, children, and the health workers who serve them every day.
