Hi! We're a group of Texas State University students passionate about making a difference in our community, and we’re raising funds to support Safe in Austin, an incredible nonprofit dedicated to healing both animals and people.

Safe in Austin was inspired by a rescue dog named Angel, who transformed the life of a child with autism through unconditional love and companionship. What started as one powerful story has grown into a sanctuary where abused, neglected, and special-needs animals are given a second chance—and in turn, help children and individuals facing trauma, disabilities, and emotional challenges find healing, confidence, and hope.

At their ranch, these rescued animals become partners in the healing process. Once they are safe and cared for, they are introduced to children who may be going through similar struggles. Together, they build trust, connection, and strength in a completely judgment-free environment. Even more inspiring, Safe in Austin never charges for their services because they believe that love and healing should be accessible to everyone.

Your donation will directly support the care of over 200 rescued animals, help maintain the ranch, and fund programs like the Healing Hearts Animal Care Program, camps, and therapeutic experiences for children in need.
