Support Safe Havens for Friendly Cat Colonies
Donation protected
All I want for my bday is to get the friendly cat colonies in my neighborhood off the streets and living in warm, cozy beds, with a loving family, AC in the summer, heat in the winter, full bellies, clean water, and most importantly, LOVE!
Unfortunately, South Florida is overrun with friendly cats and kittens because people are constantly dumping their cats outside. The cats are often friendly but not fixed, and the people move away and just leave them here. The cats are pretty resourceful, so they’ll usually find a cat-loving person, like me, to take care of them.
Which is why the friendly colony on my street showed up at my door with those little sweet purrs and begged me to help them.
So of course, I, along with several other neighbors, took responsibility for them and TNVR’d (Trapped, Neutered, Vaccinated) them. Since they were soooo friendly, I decided to foster them and get them adopted.
I’ve lined up 6 adoptions in a month, and I still have one kitten I need to trap and vet before I can foster and get it adopted, along with my feral tripod who I need to keep socializing before she can be adopted!
There is another colony a few streets north of me that has about 10 adult cats that are already TNVR’d, and we are looking for fosters and adopters to take them in now! ⬛
I’ve been super blessed so far, and things have been working out sooooo beautifully. Better than I ever could have imagined. Thanks be to God! I’ve found the best fosters and adopters anyone could ask for. I’ve got a lot of support, and we’re all working diligently to get these cats off the streets and moved into loving homes.
The harsh reality is these cats aren’t safe outside. They are living by a main road and busy street where cars go speeding by. The sad part of rescue is when we lose one. We’ve already lost one that got hit by a car, and another injured one has gone missing. And there is a neighbor threatening to poison them if we don’t stop feeding them.
We really want to get them all moved inside before we lose any more. So if you know anyone who might be willing to foster a cat or two so we can get them moved inside and finish vetting them so they can be adopted, please lmk.
And if you aren’t local or can’t foster, please consider making a small donation to the cause. These donations will go towards vetting and providing medications, food, and litter for these cats. No donation is too small. If 100 people give $1, that’s $100 worth of cat food for them!
Thank you for anything you can offer. Appreciate it all. And the cats do even more! ⬛
