About the Curt Orlowski Memorial Fund
The mission of the Curt Orlowski Memorial is to honor the life and legacy of Curt Orlowski by sharing his story and the remarkable achievements he made during his 18 years with us. We are dedicated to educating the public on the serious consequences of drunk, drugged, and distracted driving. By highlighting Curt's accomplishments and the positive impact he made on those around him, we hope to raise awareness and inspire lasting change in our communities.
Join us at the Northwood University Auto Show
This weekend's Northwood University Auto Show is the largest event that we have ever been a part of! If you or someone you know will be in Midland, Michigan, on September 20, 2025, please stop by our booth.
While a student at Northwood University, Curt participated in the 50th Annual Auto Show on team BMW. We will be sharing about Curt and the differences that he made in his 18 years with us and educating people on the true impacts of drunk, drugged and distracted driving in the hopes that the experience will encourage others to be safe and save lives.
We're setting up a driving course where attendees can drive adult-sized pedal cars while wearing goggles that simulate what it is like to drive impaired. We aim to offer this opportunity to thousands of people at the country's largest outdoor auto show, while also building on the momentum of the day to raise funds. This effort will enable us to elevate our message and maintain a presence in communities and at events for years to come.
The pedal car and goggles activities provide a safe and impactful demonstration of the dangers associated with impaired driving, which should be shared with as many people as possible.
Support this lifesaving education at the Auto Show and Beyond!
Please make a gift and help us achieve our goals.
We are hoping to raise $5,000 to enhance our impaired driving awareness educational experiences. Reaching this goal during the Northwood University Auto Show would be a great way to honor Curt and keep our work going.
Your gift will help us:
- Continue our scholarship and education programs.
- Conduct fleet maintenance of our current cars.
- Replace 2 of our current pedal cars with new commercial-quality pedal cars(estimated expense of $1,000-$2,000 per car).
- Expand our services with the addition of virtual reality goggles. We are currently working on a prototype and hope to test it out soon. This innovation will allow guests who are not comfortable with using pedal cars to participate as well.
