My cousin Saeed is facing a tough battle. Originally from and living in Yemen, Saeed moved to Saudi Arabia to work hard and build a better future as the living situation in Yemen is currently also difficult and he is the sole provider for his family at the age of 28. The harsh conditions in which he was working has taken a toll on his lungs leaving him critically ill and dependent on constant oxygen support. He is left with only 30% of his lungs functioning. He is currently alone there without any of his family with him.

Right now, Saeed is in a hospital in Saudi Arabia, struggling to breathe with the help of machines and a chest drain due to fluid in his lungs. His oxygen saturation is very unstable. The doctors want to discharge him, but he is simply not strong enough to travel safely without specialised medical equipment — a portable oxygen concentrator which itself is £2,500 — and continuous oxygen support.

Saeed needs a double lung transplant, and the best place for this life-saving procedure with expert care and affordable costs is in India. The transplant alone will cost approximately £30,000 not including the expenses for his ongoing hospital care and safe travel.

He is young, full of hope, and has so much life still to live. Saeed’s condition is dire and critical, and this is an urgent call for help. We want to give him a fighting chance — a chance to breathe freely again, to live fully, and to create new memories with those who love him.

This is a difficult and unexpected situation that demands a large sum of money beyond our means as a family. We humbly ask for your support to help cover his hospital stay, support for family to travel to assist him, the portable oxygen concentrator for safe travel, and the life-saving lung transplant.
