Support Sadiya for her Semester Abroad

Hi, my name is Sadiya Young and I'm a Senior Foreign Languages & Cultures Major at Alfred University with a double minor in Psychology and Global Studies. This Fall 2021, I am studying abroad at the University of Essex in the United Kingdom but I need help getting there. I currently have 2 jobs (one of them being my own small business) and I spend a lot of my free time volunteering my time and youthful energy giving back to my community. I also help look after my younger siblings whenever my mom can't or when she needs a break. Although I am working, I'm afraid that I won't make enough this summer to fully support myself in my semester abroad. I will use your donations to buy my plane tickets from NY to the UK and back, suitcases, textbooks, notebooks and other school supplies, international health insurance, and if there's any money left over I will use it for emergencies or any other unexpected expenses.  

Studying abroad is an amazing opportunity for me as I will get more experience and make more connections for my career in the translating and interpreting industry. Your support means everything to me! It is an amazing feeling knowing that people believe in me and knowing that I'm supported makes me want to push through and work THAT much harder. I want to make my mom, my community, and most importantly myself proud next semester and I can't do that without you. 

I am due to leave for the United Kingdom in early October and return home to New York mid-December. I'm looking forward to the experiences I will gain and the connections I will make during my short time in the UK. My semester abroad will be influential not only in my academic career but in my future career as an official translator as well. I am forever grateful and thankful for your help and your support.
