Support Sadie's Specialized Veterinary Care
Donation protected
Sadie is the our sweet golden girl and she needs some help.
Sadie has a history of seizures and despite several good months of being seizure free, Tuesday night/Wednesday morning she had several breakthrough seizures back to back that led us to taking her to the emergency vet in Lexington. She had around a dozen seizures in an hour. Her temperature was 108 at the hospital and, after her seizures got under control, the vet discovered that Sadie had lost her vision. The prognosis was not good.
Today (Thursday) we picked her up in the early AM from the Lexington location and transported her to the Cincinnati location where she can receive more specialized care. Her vision has returned, her temp has gone down, she recognized us (she did not recognize us yesterday), and was able to rest with Jonathan in the backseat.
We have covered the current expenses so far, but we expect to get a call later today with her care plan moving forward and we know it will cost even more money.
If you know us, you know how much we love Sadie. And if you have met Sadie, you know why she’s so loved by everyone she meets. She is the best dog ever, and a treasured member of our extended family.
If you’re able, we would appreciate donations to help us moving forward with her care and help us make the decisions we will face in the next few days. We want to bring her home and give her all the love we can for a few more years.
ETA: Sadie is home! We brought her home Friday night after she was successfully seizure free after her 2nd medically induced coma. She has new seizure meds (more than double what she was taking before) as well as a rescue medication plan in case she has another episode.
She will still be recovering for a few weeks- her legs are very weak and we need to use a harness to help lift/support her going up and down stairs, but she wants to move around, so she’ll get there. She’ll need lots of rest, which is great with us. Rest time = cuddle time ❤️
Thank you for the support you gave or came here to give. It truly does mean so much.
