If you know Sadie, you know she’s always smiling. Cracking jokes at work, making a sarcastic remark, laughing out loud with friends. She’s someone you remember when you meet her.
If you've known her for a while though, you’ll know she’s battled depression since she was a preteen. Depression leads to a lot of things, one of those being not caring for hygiene. That, mixed with medications that depleted her body of essential vitamins and nutrients, has caused a lot of tooth decay. Slowly, over time, the vitamin deficiency caused the decay from within, rather than through cavities, creating broken teeth. And slowly, her self-esteem, confidence, and ability to eat also decayed. The smile you see now is from the aid of cheap, plastic clip-on veneers, which grip onto the teeth she does have, only helping minimally with aesthetics. She still can’t eat anything that requires a lot of chewing, which includes essentials like meat or bread. And underneath, there is still so much pain from not being able to afford dental work.
After many consultations at many different clinics, her only option at this point is complete removal of her teeth and replacing them with dentures or implants. Which is why I’m reaching out to family, friends, and anyone who would help reach the goal of the down payment for a set of dentures. Dentures would allow her to eat normally again, and smile without hesitation or embarrassment or pain.
If Sadie has ever made you smile, please consider helping her smile back, with confidence.
