A Family's Fight: Supporting Sad'ee and Her Journey to Recovery
Our lives were turned upside down on June 10th when my incredible wife, Sad'ee, was admitted to the hospital. On June 15th, she was taken to the ICU, where for three terrifying days she was on life support, fighting with every ounce of her being. While she's thankfully off life support now, she's been in the hospital for a total of ten days, and we've been told her recovery will be a long and challenging road. We're unsure when she'll be able to return home.
Sad'ee was already on disability for other health issues, making her current situation even more difficult. As the sole provider for our family, all the financial responsibilities — from daily expenses to medical bills — fall to me. While Sad'ee does have medical insurance, we're currently unsure how much of these extensive medical bills they'll ultimately cover, adding a significant layer of financial uncertainty.
I've already used all my paid time off from work, and I'm currently navigating the process of registering with FMLA to protect my job as I care for her. It's important to understand that FMLA typically provides job-protected, unpaid leave, and while some states offer paid family leave, the amount is often limited, and there can be a processing time before benefits, if any, begin. This means our income will be significantly impacted during this period.
Adding to the complexity, our wonderful 11-year-old child needs their parent, and Sad'ee will require significant care when she finally comes home. The emotional and financial strain is immense, and honestly, we're reaching out because we need help.
We've set up this GoFundMe to help us cover mounting medical costs, everyday living expenses, and to allow me to take the necessary time off work to be by Sad'ee's side and care for her during her recovery. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a profound difference in our ability to focus on Sad'ee's healing and keep our family afloat during this incredibly difficult time.
Thank you for considering supporting us. Your generosity and prayers mean the world.
