  • Hello, my name is Brian Boals and I am raising money again to try to help my wife. In June of 2022, she was diagnosed with brain cancer. Since that time, she has undergone two craniotomies, a needle

  • biopsy, chemotherapy, full-spectrum radiation, and a round of targeted radiation known as a cyber knife. We were informed during her last hospital stay that she is currently cancer-free. Unfortunately, the things we did to get rid of the cancer have taken a toll. In September of 2023, Sacha's short-term memory failed. No one really knows to what degree the damage to her brain will heal or how long it will take to do so. The damage was caused by the radiation. She also has a quite significant deficit in her left-side function. While I thank God every day that the cancer is gone, I continue to seek answers and solutions to make her whole again. Her quality of life has been significantly diminished due to the damage in her brain. She is now essentially living with a traumatic brain injury. While I pray every day for God to heal her, I don't just sit around waiting and hoping for that miracle. I spend any spare time I have searching for anything that could help her.

I have found a therapy that seems to be doing miraculous things for people with TBI. Unfortunately, that therapy isn't approved in the US currently. Hopefully, one day it will be, but I really can't see waiting around and just hoping for that, so that's why I'm here starting this campaign. The case studies I've seen and read are mostly from soldiers who were affected by TBI from their time in combat. Amazingly, of the ones that have gone through this treatment, roughly 80% of them have seen an improvement of around 88% in their functionality. The treatment is known as ibogaine treatments. It has been used for a while now to treat substance abuse, but it's starting to be used to treat TBI, PTSD, and the depression and anxiety associated with those things.

Anyone that knows Sacha knows that she's an unbelievably strong person, and if anyone can come back from what she's been through, it's her. I have no way of knowing if the treatments will help her, but I do know that if there is a way to try, I owe it to her to do so. If anyone feels compelled to help me achieve this, I really would appreciate it. I work every day to keep our family afloat financially, and with Sacha not being able to help, it has been extraordinarily difficult just to get by, so I fear without the help of friends, family, and even total strangers, I won't be able to do this for her. Please consider giving what you can and help me try to make life better for the woman I owe everything to. The funds will help cover the cost of treatments as well as the travel expenses. Thank you, and God bless.
