Support Sabuur's Battle with Bladder Cancer
Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Colleagues,
As many of you know, I’ve dedicated over 30 years of my career to higher education, serving as an advisor, mentor, and leader. Guiding students and empowering educators has been my passion and life’s work—a calling that brings me immense joy and purpose.
Today, I find myself on a very different journey, one I never expected: battling aggressive bladder cancer. Over the past months, I’ve undergone chemotherapy, and on February 19, I will have surgery to remove my bladder. While I am optimistic about the road ahead, the reality is that my recovery will require me to be off work for at least two months without pay, as I have not yet accrued the sick leave necessary in my new role.
The financial burden of medical expenses, combined with the loss of income, has created a significant challenge for me during an already difficult time. That’s why I am humbly reaching out to you—my community of colleagues, former coworkers, friends, and family—for support.
Your contribution, no matter the size, will go a long way in helping me manage these expenses and focus on healing and recovery. Your generosity will ensure I can meet my financial obligations and return to the work I love—helping students achieve their goals—without added stress.
I know that times are challenging for everyone, and your support in any form—whether through a donation, sharing this campaign, or keeping me in your thoughts and prayers—means the world to me.
Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and belief in the power of community. Together, we can turn this challenging time into a testament to the strength and love we share for one another.
With gratitude and hope,
Sabuur
