Hello, my name is Sabrina. My daughter and I were in a major car accident yesterday, 01/14/2026, at 10:20 am on highway I-57 going northbound at the 312-mile mark. I hit a patch, at under 30mph, of black ice under the snow, and my car started to slide. Then a white SUV hit me & sped off, spinning my car around leaving me and my daughter stunned. When we stopped spinning a semi was coming straight for us. He tried to swerve to the right to avoid us but still hit us pretty hard. My daughter and I have whiplash and bruises, and I have back, neck, chest, and head pain. Thankfully, we are both alive. I had liability insurance and because I slid they’re putting me at fault since the white SUV took off. I don’t have the luxury of having saved up money to get another car. I live paycheck to paycheck. And now I can’t even do that. 

The reason for this GoFundMe is so I can get vehicle since that car was what we solely relied on for my (autistic) grandson's, daughter's, (autistic)son's, and all my orthopedic appointments and their work. Almost all of our appointments are in the hospital district in Chicago, and I cannot walk to the bus or train stations because of my medical conditions (need knee replacement surgery, Achilles tendon surgery, & back surgery) and now this added on. Stations are a half mile to a mile away from me. 

I know everyone is going through something nowadays, and I understand. So if you are able to donate anything, it's really, really appreciated. Even if it $100-$50-$25-$10-$5 anything.
