Support Julian and Sabrina’s Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected

Julian was discharged from the hospital late on 5/13/2025 and is now recovering in the comfort of his own home, surrounded by his loving family and precious little ones, where he can bask in their love and support.

Julian requires continuous oxygen, but his unwavering spirit and unshakeable faith remain a beacon of hope and inspiration. His prognosis remains unchanged, yet we remain hopeful and optimistic, knowing that he is surrounded by an army of loved ones who visit him daily. Please continue to uplift Julian and his family in prayer, as your prayers are a precious gift.

Julian has made the courageous decision to decline hospice at this time and will continue to fight with oral chemo medications, a testament to his unyielding determination and resilience. We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support, which has been a constant source of comfort and strength.

The road ahead will undoubtedly be challenging for Julian "Jao", but we are heartened by the kindness of strangers and the generosity of those who have donated, shared this page, and lifted our family in prayer.

Please continue to share this if you can! Thank you!

UPDATE MAY 8th 2025:

We are deeply grateful for the overwhelming display of support, generosity, and kindness our family has received - it's had a profoundly uplifting impact on our lives. We're heartened by the love and encouragement you've all shown us. Here is a medical update as of 5/8:

Julian is making remarkable progress in the hospital, with antibiotics and steroids effectively clearing the infection. Julian's incredible strength and resilience continue to inspire us, and they will benefit from ongoing oxygen therapy after discharge, which is anticipated within a couple of days (fingers crossed)! Julian will continue to receive antibiotics, steroids, and oral chemotherapy treatment while in the hospital.

Julian / Jao is making remarkable progress, gaining strength and endurance to walk the halls with the support of physical and occupational therapy, though still requiring rest and managing windedness; nights remain more challenging than days and oxygen levels are adjusted to a higher dose during this time. Please keep Julian and their family in your thoughts and prayers as our family continues to navigate through this difficult time. Thank you!

Julian Parsons-Hang, a US Army veteran who served from 2001-2007, has undergone numerous challenges.

In 2009, Julian was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer and had a double mastectomy. There was no family history of cancer in Julian’s family.

Julian met Sabrina in 2009, and things seemed to brighten. Julian was in ongoing treatment for cancer even after the mastectomy but continued to thrive. In 2012, Julian suffered an L2 lumbar fracture from cancer spreading. Sabrina enlisted in the United States Navy in 2013, and they got married in April 2014. Shortly after, they started trying for a family through artificial insemination while stationed in VA. Julian and Sabrina thought they had it all. They got pregnant right away with their first daughter, Kamryn, born in 2015. Although hardship did not stop. Julian’s cancer started to spread to the bone, and Sabrina suffered a miscarriage in 2016. They had their second daughter in 2017, not long after Sabrina was honorably discharged from the Navy, and they returned home to MN. Julian was never in remission and had monthly cancer treatments ongoing since 2009. Julian and Sabrina went on to have two more daughters (born in 2019 and 2022). Life has been rough, and things have continued to progress.

March 2025 hit hard with devastating news that Julian had been diagnosed with leptomeningeal disease (LMD), and their prognosis is 3-4 months. Sabrina is now out on medical leave and soon to be fully unpaid from her full-time job, paying benefits out of pocket to keep insurance going in order to cover treatments.

Julian has been hospitalized since 4/28 for pneumonia and another infection that is attacking the lungs, all while still dealing with this disease and cancer spreading to the lining of the brain and spinal fluid, which Julian is in chemotherapy for.

This family is the most loving and giving family anyone has ever met and has always gone above and beyond for anyone that knows them. To show our gratitude for all the love and help they have given to others, now is the time to help them in their time of need.

This GoFundMe is being set up to help with medical expenses, burial expenses, funeral expenses, family expenses, and everything else that goes into preparing for a funeral. We appreciate it and will keep everyone updated on Julian’s health.
