Sabrina has been my best friend for 24 years, and I’ve never seen anyone face so much hardship with such strength. Earlier this year, Sabrina devoted herself to caring for her mother, who was battling cervical cancer. She put her own life and work on hold to be there for her mom and her three children, making sure everyone was cared for during an incredibly difficult time. In June, her mother passed away, leaving a huge hole in Sabrina’s heart and family.

Just as she was beginning to process her loss, Sabrina’s world was turned upside down again. Only a month after her mother’s passing, her spouse was diagnosed with an aggressive, untreatable cancer in his face and throat. Despite everyone’s hopes, there was nothing the doctors could do, and he passed away in the first week of October. Sabrina’s spouse was the family’s only source of income, and now she’s left to support her children on her own. She’s recently started a job at a grocery store, but she’s not fully hired in yet and is struggling to make ends meet.

Sabrina needs help with rent, utilities, groceries, gas, and making sure her children have a Christmas this year. She’s doing everything she can, but the challenges are overwhelming.
