Dear friends,

Over the past month, our Uncle/Kaka, Suresh Gosai, has been in and out of the hospital dealing with an unknown dental issue. Over the course of the month, he has undergone significant imaging, testing, and operations.

Initially, he thought because of his tooth extraction, he is feeling the natural pain but week after week his pain kept growing and the side of his mouth started to swell with deep red soreness in the tooth extraction area, which led him to visit the dentist again. The dentist then ordered quick biopsy and ran several tests…

A week later, Uncle/Kaka unfortunately found out that he has non-healing tongue ulcer which is commonly known as oral cancer. He now requires urgent major head & neck surgery followed by chemotherapy and radiotherapy. To remove the cancerous tumor, part of his tongue will surgically be removed and re-constructed to restore its functions.

The journey to get this diagnosed will require copious amounts of medical intervention, and moving forward will require thorough and regimented treatment. Given the circumstances of my uncle’s diagnosis, he will be unable to work, and the treatment/hospital stay will create an overwhelming financial burden on someone who needs to focus on his treatment.

For those of you who know Uncle/Kaka, you know that he is one of the best family, friend that any of us could ever have. He has served his community well with love and kindness and now if we can show some generosity, that will be very much appreciated.
