Support Ryleigh's Fight Against Encephalitis~#TEAMRYLEIGH
Donation protected
This is my sister Eleasha and my 11-year-old niece, Ryleigh. Up until a month ago, Ryleigh was actively helping to coordinate Thanksgiving dinner at their house. Today, she is in the hospital battling post-infectious encephalitis, a fight she’s been enduring since November 4, 2024. She was transferred from the local hospital to Children’s Hospital on November 8, 2024, where she continues to fight for her recovery.
Eleasha’s battle is a different one. As a loving mother, she has stayed by Ryleigh’s side in the hospital every day, holding onto hope, waiting, and praying for her daughter’s recovery. However, she has exhausted all her leave and, while eligible for FMLA, is not eligible for short-term disability for the illness of a dependent. This leaves her in a difficult position where she must continue to pay her health insurance premium to ensure Ryleigh remains covered, but without a steady income, she is unable to meet other financial responsibilities for her household.
I understand we’re all navigating the challenges of the holiday season, and many are facing difficult situations. But if you can, please consider donating to Ryleigh’s cause. No contribution is too small. If you can’t donate financially, we ask that you please keep Ryleigh and Eleasha in your prayers, share this GoFundMe request, and encourage others to do the same.
We are deeply grateful for any support you can offer. Thank you for keeping them in your thoughts and prayers!
