Hi, my name is Myree Hickman! I am trying to raise money for my sister, Ryleigh. She has been awarded an internship in Prague for the study of Mind, Brain, and Behavior. This trip begins on May 17. I really hope I can help her achieve this amazing opportunity. I love being able to see her accomplish her dreams, and I know how proud our mom would be to see her take on this new adventure. The cost of this trip is $4,850 plus meals and incidentals. She has been awarded scholarships to help with part of the program costs, and my goal is to help her raise the rest. Please see below for her introduction and overview.

This summer, I have the incredible opportunity to study abroad in Prague through a CIEE psychology program. My family has roots in Czechoslovakia, making this experience even more meaningful. Walking the streets of my ancestors, immersing myself in the culture, and exploring the region’s history will provide both personal and academic enrichment. Studying how psychology is practiced in an international setting will expand my perspectives on mental health and well-being, helping me grow as I work toward my goal of becoming a neuropsychologist.
However, making this experience a reality comes with financial challenges. I’m reaching out to this wonderful community, which has always been a source of support and encouragement, to ask for your help. Any contribution will go directly toward making this life-changing opportunity possible. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity — it truly means the world to me.
I’m a proud Big Sandy alum and currently a student at Colorado State University, where I’m pursuing a degree in Psychology with a concentration in Mind, Brain, and Behavior. I’m also minoring in American Sign Language, which has given me a deeper understanding of communication and human connection. My college experience has been filled with opportunities for growth — from conducting research on the intersection of ADHD and ASL for an academic symposium, to taking on leadership roles as an instructor in the Ram Country Dance Club, where I teach both leads and follows the joy of country swing. Additionally, I’ve served as a student representative in various organizations, fostering my passion for advocacy and community involvement.
