If you know Amanda, you know Rylee. They are INSEPARABLE. Wherever Amanda is, Rylee shouldn't be far behind. And if she isn't, you bet Amanda is talking about her. She’s not just a dog, she’s Amanda’s best friend, shadow, and constant source of comfort.
The past two days, Amanda noticed Rylee wasn’t feeling herself. Trusting her gut, she rushed her to the vet, where the day took an unexpected and terrifying turn. What Amanda hoped was not a life-threatening diagnosis sadly proved to be, and before she could process it, Rylee was already being prepped for emergency surgery.
The diagnosis: a ruptured spleen. The damage was so severe that the veterinarians were shocked she had held on as long as she did. But if you know Rylee, this doesn’t come as a surprise. She is strong, loyal, and fiercely devoted to Amanda; and that same fighting spirit carried her through the operation.
By the grace of God, Rylee survived. She made it out of surgery, but the road to recovery is long, and the financial burden of emergency veterinary care, as one can assume, is overwhelming. Amanda does not need that right now. Especially after an already difficult year for the farm, this unexpected crisis has placed an even heavier weight on Amanda’s shoulders.
Amanda gives her heart every day to her horses, her clients, and her barn family. Everyone who steps foot on Sandamar understands what I mean. Now it’s our turn to show up for her and Rylee. Any amount, big or small, will go directly toward covering Rylee’s medical bills and easing the financial stress, so Amanda can focus on what matters most: helping her best friend and partner in crime (Sorry Mich!) heal.
Rylee means the world to Amanda, and together, we can help give them more time, more memories, and more love. ❤️
Thank you for supporting them during this incredibly hard time.
