Support Ryker’s Fight Against Cancer

Dear family, friends, colleagues, and caring supporters,

Our family was devastated to learn that our son Ryker is facing the battle of his young life as he was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer, Ewing Sarcoma. He is going to be receiving chemotherapy every two weeks for 8 months, with likely possibility of radiation treatment. We are hopeful he will not need spinal surgery, but we will not no for sure until he is further along in his treatments. Unfortunately due to where his tumors have formed, he has lost the ability to walk distances further than 10-15 ft without support. As an avid soccer player since he was 4, running and playing has been a huge part of his life. This has been tremendously difficult for him to process and accept, but he has the desire and spirit to rehab through physical therapy and is making good progress. He knows the journey ahead will be long and tough, but we know he is ready for this fight and he’s hoping you can help him face this with the village behind him.

For those that know him, Ryker has the biggest heart you could ever imagine. His empathy for others, love and concern for his fellow classmates, teammates, and friends is known and comes so easily and effortlessly. His personality is the stuff that parents dream of; a young man with a heart of gold, always striving to do his best in school and in athletic competitions. He is the life of the party one minute and the next he’s ready to kneel beside and comfort/help you if you fall down. He is the kind of young man, that is friendly and outgoing, and gets along with all of the young people in his school. His courage and maturity in this situation has been nothing short of amazing. We can’t begin to tell him how proud we are of him, as words could never do it justice.

Our family’s goal is to reach is to reach $20,000. Any contributions will make an enormous difference in this incredibly difficult battle against Ewing Sarcoma. It will allow our family to focus on being with Ryker step-by-step as he goes through his treatment cycles, rehabilitates his body, and overall recovery without the weight of the medical bills and additional expenses adding to an already tremendously stressful and painful time in our lives. We want all of our energy and focus to go to Ryker as he we will need us now more than ever. With your help, we can give Ryker everything he needs to increase his chances of victory against cancer and allow him to hopefully live a healthy and full life.
