Hi everyone,
I never thought I’d be in a position to write something like this, but this week turned into an emergency I couldn’t have prepared for.
My dog Ryder—my best friend and constant companion—had to be rushed into emergency surgery after a large tumor was found on his spleen. It was life-threatening, and removing his spleen was the only way to save him.
He made it through surgery, but the recovery has been intense. He needed multiple days of IV fluids, antibiotics, and close monitoring just to stabilize. Thankfully, he’s now home, eating again, and getting spoiled with all his favorite foods while he regains his strength.
We did receive the heartbreaking news that the tumor is cancerous. Right now, the focus is on keeping Ryder comfortable, pain-free, and enjoying whatever time he has left.
The total cost of his emergency care has reached about $5,000, which I had to put on a CareCredit card under urgent circumstances. I’m now facing the challenge of paying that off within six months to avoid extremely high interest, on top of ongoing costs for his medications and follow-up care.
If you’re able to donate, even a small amount, it would mean more than I can express. And if you can’t, sharing this helps just as much.
Ryder is truly my whole world, and I just want to give him the best care and comfort possible during this time.
Thank you for reading, and thank you for caring about him. ❤️
