Hope for Rya, Help Us Fight for Our Daughter’s Future
Our daughter Rya was born a perfectly healthy, beautiful little girl. For the first nine months of her life she was thriving, smiling, and reaching all the milestones we dreamed of watching her achieve.
Then everything changed.
At 9 months old, Rya contracted adenovirus, which led to a devastating complication called viral encephalitis a severe inflammation of the brain.
The infection caused swelling in critical parts of her brain, including the basal ganglia, which control movement and motor function, and the brainstem, which regulates many of the body’s most vital functions.
During the worst of the illness, Rya was experiencing seizures every three minutes for hours. Watching our baby go through that was something no parent should ever have to witness.
Although the seizures have stopped, Rya is still fighting a long and uncertain road ahead.
Doctors are still running tests and we are waiting on a final diagnosis, but specialists are currently leaning toward the possibility of a metabolic disorder and cerebral palsy caused by the brain inflammation.
Right now Rya struggles with many of the movements that once came naturally. But we are seeing small signs of strength and determination in her every day, and we believe with the right therapies she has the potential to make incredible progress.

Why We Are Raising Funds
Many of the therapies that could help Rya recover and rebuild her neurological pathways are not covered by insurance.
One of the most promising treatments we are researching is MUSE Stem Cell Therapy in Japan, which uses Multilineage-differentiating Stress Enduring (MUSE) stem cells. These cells have shown encouraging results in helping repair damaged tissue and reducing inflammation in neurological injuries.
Our goal is to give Rya access to every possible chance for recovery and progress.
Funds raised will help cover:
• MUSE stem cell treatment in Japan
• Intensive neurological rehabilitation therapies
• Physical therapy and occupational therapy programs
• Specialized equipment and mobility tools
• Therapies and treatments insurance will not cover
• Travel and medical expenses related to treatment

Our Hope
Rya is a fighter.
Even through everything she has endured, she still smiles. She still responds to our voices. And we still see the same beautiful little girl we brought into the world.
We are determined to do everything possible to help her heal, grow, and experience the life she deserves.
We will also be starting the Hope for Rya Foundation, with the dream that one day when Rya is stronger we will be able to continue helping other families facing similar neurological challenges.
Right now, we simply need help getting our daughter the care she needs.
If you feel led to support Rya, whether through a donation or by sharing her story, our family will be forever grateful.
Every prayer, every share, and every contribution brings us one step closer to giving Rya the future we believe she can have.
Thank you for standing with us and for believing in our little girl.
With love and gratitude,
Rya’s family
