My Cross-Country Ride: San Diego to St. Augustine for Family, Hope, and Help for Others

Hi, I’m Ryan Struble, a 43-year-old entrepreneur, husband to a wonderful wife Khara Struble, and dad to two amazing boys, 10-year-old AJ and 4-year-old Jaxon. I’m about to embark on a cross-country bike ride—from San Diego California to St. Augustine, Florida—a journey that will keep me away from home for almost two months. I’m not chasing only personal challenge; I’m cycling to celebrate the health and capabilities I’m grateful for and to turn that gratitude into help for others.

I’ve been blessed with the health and energy to pursue ambitious goals. This ride is a daily reminder of how precious movement, perseverance, and family support are.

My family’s unwavering encouragement makes this challenge even more meaningful. Being away from them for almost two months will be tough, but it’s a chance to honor their love by giving back.

Where your generosity will go

I’ll be raising a total of $10,000, split between two causes close to my heart:

Huntington’s Disease Society of America (HDSA): Huntington’s disease is a relentlessly progressive brain disorder that affects tens of thousands of families. Your support helps fund research, family services, and education to improve lives today and advance a cure for tomorrow.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital: St. Jude is transforming pediatric cancer and other life-threatening diseases through groundbreaking research and compassionate care. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food—your donations help sustain that mission.

I’ll begin in San Diego and ride coast-to-coast toward St. Augustine, sharing daily updates on my social channels. I’ll post highlights, challenges, and moments of reflection from the road so you can ride along with me—virtually.

I’ll publicly share training milestones, maps, and progress reports to maintain transparency and accountability.
