Help Ryan lost his house in a fire. Help him rebuild.

My name is Urszula Lulewicz, and I’m Ryan’s mother. I’m writing this with a heavy heart, asking for your support to help my son rebuild his life after the fire that destroyed his home in Alaska. Ryan has always been a kind, hardworking, and thoughtful young man who chose a quiet life close to nature. Watching everything he built go up in flames has been heartbreaking, and as his mother, I want to do everything I can to help him start over. I’m deeply grateful for any support you can offer.

Who is Ryan?
Ryan is a quiet, thoughtful soul with a deep love for simplicity and nature. He grew up on Long Island, New York, the son of Polish immigrants. His father passed away when Ryan was just 13. Despite this hardship, Ryan excelled academically — he was an outstanding AP student and went on to study Physics at Stony Brook University.
In 2019, Ryan set out to explore the world in search of purpose and direction. He spent four years in Taiwan, where he immersed himself in the culture, learned Mandarin (as he liked to say, “I’m Polish—no one speaks Polish here, so I had no choice but to learn!”), and discovered a love for watercolor painting.

A New Life in Alaska
Before returning to the U.S., Ryan discovered a beautiful property in Cooper Landing, Alaska, and fell in love with it instantly. He made a plan: stop briefly on Long Island to spend time with his mama, then fly to Alaska over Memorial Day weekend to meet the property’s owner. The owner, an 85-year-old gentleman full of wisdom and knowledge about Alaska, inspired Ryan deeply. He had no doubts—this was where he wanted to build his life.

Ryan used all his savings to buy the house. Each day brought something new: getting goats, learning to raise and milk them, tending to the garden, getting hens and a rooster, chopping wood to prepare for winter, and even injuring himself once in the process. Every day was a challenge—physically exhausting, but never boring.

He began making friends in the warm, welcoming Alaskan community. When I visited him in August, I was amazed by how tirelessly Ryan worked—building compost, planting trees and bushes, and turning that land into a home.

Almost exactly a year after he moved to Alaska, his house caught fire shortly after midnight on June 7th. In a matter of hours, the main lodge was reduced to a smoldering heap of ash.
Ryan was not insured. We, his friends and family, would like to help him rebuild. He fears the site is unsalvageable, the land contaminated by the various toxins released in the high-heat fire, destroying everything from wood beams to kitchen appliances, even warping the blaze king cast iron stove in the house.

Why We Need Your Help?
Ryan still believes in his dream — to live simply, close to the land. But he cannot do it alone. He has lost everything, but not his spirit.

We, his friends and family, are asking for your help, Ryan. Every donation, every share, every kind word matters. With your support, we can help him rebuild not just his home, but the life he’s been working toward for years. He just to stand up on his feet again and build tiny, simple, organic house.

Thank you for helping Ryan turn the ashes of loss into a new beginning.
