Support Ryan Harris’s Healing Journey and Expenses
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
I’m reaching out to you in the hope of getting some much-needed support during a very challenging time in Ryan Harris’s life. In November on 75 during one of those rain storms he was involved in a severe head-on car accident caused by another driver.
Harris was rushed to the hospital and coded on the table. He received 9 units of blood to save his life. He sustained a severe leg injury, internal injuries, blacked eyes, was intubated, had multiple lacerations, and went through several surgeries. He spent two months in the hospital recovering. He is still in the healing process and can’t walk without assistance.
The other driver unfortunately had minimal insurance coverage. This accident has left him with a significant financial burden on a fixed budget, in addition to the medical bills.
Additionally, due to his Multiple Sclerosis (M.S.) diagnosis, which complicates his recovery and prevents him from working, he has been pursuing a disability case for the past three years. Unfortunately, he currently has no source of income.
He was financially downsizing to a house in Okmulgee when the wreck occurred. His first night in his home was the day he was released from the hospital (in my opinion too early), and in the first 24 hours, he fell twice.
His struggles continue as he is surrounded by unpacked boxes and an unset-up home. His beloved dog (Luna) can’t be with him because he is incapacitated from letting her outside. If you know Harris, you know how much that dog means to him and how much he misses her. To add insult to injury, you may also know that he’s an audiophile. I first met him in 1998 when he was a home audio specialist at Circuit City, and I was working the car audio department. We have always shared similar interests. I share this to explain that the car wreck completely destroyed his long-time collection of high-fidelity (HiFi) gear he was moving over. This isn’t a request to replace equipment; it’s a way to show how much joy has been taken from him. These last few years have been hard. He’s lost 2 roommates from deaths. So Every visit I make breaks my heart because he’s dealing with something else.
This is why I humbly request your assistance. Please keep Harris in your thoughts and prayers as he navigates healing physically and his mental well-being of a stressful situation, from the move, living in an unknown home alone, plus the unknown future.
Any contribution, no matter how small, would significantly contribute to his journey toward recovery and help him manage these overwhelming expenses. Your support would mean the world to him and me. If possible, a visit would mean a lot to him.
We trust in God, that he has a plan for his life, and we will continue and strive to rebuild it.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story about a friend I met at Circuit City. If you know me by the nickname Pants, well then… you might not know Harris gave me that name. He is a good friend who has endured a lot. So, please extend any help you can provide. Please call him or me if you can think of a way you can help.
Thank you in advance.
Monies will help with delivery of meals, home care and cleaning, and various bills.
With gratitude,
