In the past 8 months, my Ulcerative Colitis has morphed into a worse version (Pancolitis). A couple of weeks ago, I was admitted into the hospital weighing 120 lbs, down from 267 last year. My bloodwork was so bad it shocked the doctors that I was alive. I did not have any health insurance at the time I started going to the hospital for this (a couple of ER visits before I was admitted), and due to this, the bills are piling up. My treatment options are not going to be cheap even with Medicaid; the shots run from 1-7k per month. I’m back in the Decatur area taking care of my dad who’s going through his own dementia battle, so me being bedridden (or close to it) is not good for either of us.
