Hi, my name is Lauren, and I’m Ryan’s little sister. Being less than two years apart, we’ve always been incredibly close. Ryan has always been my strong, stubborn, and fiercely protective older brother—my best friend.

Recently, our world was turned upside down when Ryan was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer that breaks down the bones. Ryan had been dealing with months of severe back pain, searching for answers, only to learn that his vertebrae was nearly collapsed due to the cancer. For someone I’ve always seen as so strong, it feels cruelly ironic that he now faces a disease that threatens to weaken him. Without any prior health concerns, this definitely came as a shock to everyone. But if you know Ryan, you know he won’t let this define him. He’s a fighter, and I have no doubt he’ll fight this with everything he has.

Ryan has always had an adventurous spirit—he loves to explore, seek out new experiences, and embrace the world around him with curiosity and excitement. Whether it’s traveling to new places, hiking through the mountains, or simply finding joy in the everyday moments (mostly laughing at his own jokes ), he has never been one to sit still for long, prior to this debilitating disease. He has so much life left to live, so many more places to see, and countless adventures ahead of him. Cancer may be an obstacle, but it will never take away his passion for life or his determination to keep moving forward.

While he focuses on healing, I’m raising funds to support him and his wife, Katy, as they navigate this incredibly difficult journey. Cancer doesn’t just take a physical toll—it also brings overwhelming medical expenses and financial stress. With treatment affecting both of their ability to work, the last thing they should have to worry about is how to pay for the care he needs or keep up with everyday living expenses.
