Help Support Ryan Through His Fight Against Hodgkin's Lymphoma ❤️
Ryan moved from California to Utah to pursue his dream of becoming a firefighter and building a future in the fire service. Leaving his family behind wasn’t easy, but he was determined to follow his passion. With the support of his family and the Vernon Fire Department, Chief Joe Mannino, and the Mannino family, Ryan completed the Tooele County Fire Academy and was preparing to begin his career.
What Ryan didn’t know was that, while he was working so hard toward his dream, his body was already fighting something much bigger. He completed the fire academy and even spent this past summer working on wildland fires, pushing himself physically and mentally, all while unknowingly battling cancer.
Unfortunately, during a required physical for the fire department, blood work revealed a significantly elevated white blood cell count. After additional testing and biopsies, Ryan received the devastating news that he has Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
At just 22 years old, Ryan is now facing cancer instead of starting the career he worked so hard to achieve. He is receiving care at the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City and preparing for treatment.
This has been an emotional roller coaster for Ryan and those who love him. Thankfully, he has an incredible support system surrounding him, including his family and his fire family in Utah. Everyone is doing everything they can to support Ryan as he takes this journey one day at a time.
His diagnosis has also brought unexpected expenses, including lodging, travel between California and Utah, transportation, meals, medical expenses, and everyday living costs.
Any donation, no matter the amount, can help ease that financial burden and allow Ryan and his family to focus on what matters most—his health and recovery.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser, sending prayers, and keeping Ryan in your thoughts means just as much.
Ryan has worked incredibly hard for his dreams. Let’s help support him through this fight so he can get healthy and get back to the future he worked so hard to build.
Please keep Ryan in your prayers. ❤️
