On December 27, 2025, my 22-year-old son Ryan reached out to me because his eyes had turned yellow. I immediately noticed his skin was jaundiced and rushed him to the emergency room. After a series of tests, doctors found his liver enzymes were elevated and his labs were abnormal. He was admitted to the hospital for three days, and the hospitalist suspected lymphoma. After a biopsy, Ryan was admitted again on January 3rd, and we received the devastating news that he has Burkitt lymphoma—a rare and aggressive cancer. A 2-inch by 2-inch mass was found in his abdomen. As a mother, this is my worst nightmare. Since then, Ryan has been in and out of the hospital, receiving multiple treatments including chemotherapy, lumbar punctures, infusions, and attending both inpatient and outpatient appointments. This journey has been incredibly difficult for our family, and Ryan continues to fight bravely through his chemotherapy and infusions.
The financial strain has been overwhelming. The funds raised will help us cover late bills, current bills, and the travel expenses necessary for Ryan’s ongoing treatment and care. Every bit of support helps us focus on Ryan’s health and recovery, rather than the mounting costs.
By assisting my son Ryan, you are not only helping him but also supporting families who are currently or have previously experienced similar events. Your empathy and support can give strength to others facing these challenges. We are deeply grateful for any help you can provide during this difficult time.
