On February 19th, I was diagnosed with metastatic oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma. Since then, our world has been turned upside down as we navigate the challenges of cancer treatment. The diagnosis has brought a wave of medical appointments, tests, and procedures, all of which have resulted in missed work. Missing work for appointments has led to lost pay, and the mounting medical bills have added a heavy financial burden on top of everything else.

Looking ahead, I am preparing for surgery and radiation, which will require me to miss even more work. Because I am unable to drive, I rely on Elaine, friends, and family to help get me to and from appointments. This means Elaine may also need to take time off work, further impacting our household income. Transportation costs, whether it’s gas for our car or using Uber and Lyft, are quickly adding up.

The funds raised through this campaign will help us cover medical expenses, lost wages, and transportation costs so we can continue to pay our monthly bills and focus on my recovery. I am deeply grateful for any support you can offer.
