Please join me in support for the Vanterpool-Stanford family, and their son, Ryan, an 8th Grader at Speyer. This wonderful family is recovering from the emotional, physical, and financial toll of Ryan’s cancer diagnosis last fall. One substantial challenge was finding a doctor who treats this rare condition in children. After an extensive national search the Vanterpool-Stanfords found a specialist who could care for Ryan, and his surgery and treatments went well. Ryan is now back on his feet and is going to fully recover. They know he has been very lucky, and they have been sharing this experience in the community to spread the word to other families about the risk of malignant melanoma, even for children, and even for people of color. In the meantime, meaningful medical bills continue to arrive due to the out-of-network nature of the health care that Ryan required. I am inviting you to join me in my effort to raise funds to support the Vanterpool-Stanfords to meet this need. My goal is $25,000, which will cover these extra expenses for the family.
