On December 5th, the world of our sweet 12-year-old Ryann Dieterich and her loving family was turned upside down. Ryann was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). This news has come as a profound shock to everyone who knows and loves this remarkable young girl.
Ryann: A Ray of Sunshine
Ryann is a vivacious, funny, and deeply loved 7th grader at Scotia-Glenville Middle School. She's the kind of girl who can instantly make anyone laugh and brings immense joy to every room she enters. She recently excelled in her first year of modified field hockey and was eagerly anticipating hitting the ski slopes this winter. She loves spending time with her friends, creating funny TikToks, and keeping up with the latest fashion and cosmetic trends. Above all, she cherishes being surrounded by her adoring family.
The Long Road Ahead
Ryann is facing a long and intensive treatment journey, which is expected to span the next two to three years. Ryann's parents, Mike and Katie Dieterich, and her siblings, Reagan and Ryder, need our community's support now more than ever. The focus for the Dieterich family must be 100% on Ryann's healing, but this medical crisis has already created significant financial strain.
Katie has had to leave her job to become Ryann's full-time caregiver. Mike is significantly reducing his work hours to manage the ongoing demands of treatment, appointments, and supporting his family. Beyond the loss of income, the family faces mounting medical expenses and bills that will accumulate over this challenging period.
How You Can Help
Katie's close friends, who consider Ryann to be like a daughter to us, are reaching out to Mike and Katie's wide circle of friends, family, and the community to ask for support.
Your generous contribution will directly help ease their enormous financial burden so the Dieterich family can dedicate all their energy to Ryann's recovery and well-being. Every single donation, no matter the size, makes a difference and sends a message of hope and solidarity.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting Ryann on her fight against ALL.
With love and gratitude,
Mellissa Harju, Michele Shultis, and Jenny Lippmann
