Ryan Van Cleave’s life changed in an instant after a devastating motorcycle accident in Kona, Hawaiʻi. The accident left Ryan in critical condition, requiring an emergency med-flight to Oʻahu, where he was placed in the ICU. In the days and weeks since, Ryan has undergone multiple surgeries to repair extensive injuries, including fractures to his skull and facial bones, and is now fighting through severe brain trauma. By God’s grace, Ryan is still with us, and his progress has allowed him to transition out of the ICU and into a trauma unit. However, the road ahead will be long, uncertain, and incredibly demanding for both Ryan and his family.

Ryan’s mother, Katherine, immediately flew to Hawaii and has been by his side every moment. This has been incredibly difficult for her emotionally, physically, and financially. As Ryan continues to fight toward recovery, he will also face extensive rehabilitation—physically, mentally, and emotionally—which brings even more financial strain for his family. The costs of medical care, rehabilitation, and ongoing support are overwhelming, and the family is doing everything they can to help Ryan heal.
