Support Ryan’s Road to Recovery

Donation protected
Ryan — the friend who always shows up for everyone else — is recovering from multiple pulmonary embolisms that landed her in the hospital and left her on oxygen with months of recovery ahead. She can't work full-time, medical bills are piling up, and blood thinners alone cost a fortune. We're raising funds to cover her medical costs, medications, rent, and living expenses while she heals. Any amount helps.

If you know Ryan, you already know why we're doing this. Ryan is the person who always shows up. You mention you need help moving and she's already loading boxes into her car. Somebody died? She's already at your door with three meals, gluten-free and dairy-free because of course she remembered. If you need a ride, the car is running. When you're having a rough day, she somehow knows exactly what to say at exactly the right moment. And if you've ever sat in her chair, chances are you've told her everything and she probably responded with a listening ear because on top of everything, she's also been your therapist.

Right now, Ryan needs us.

On December 30th, she was rushed to the ER with what turned out to be multiple pulmonary embolisms — blood clots in her lungs that caused pneumonia and a lung infarction. She spent five days in the hospital, five more recovering at her mom's, and she's now home on oxygen with a long road ahead: months of blood thinners (possibly for life), countless follow-ups, and at least six months before she's back to 100%. She's hoping to return to work part-time in a couple of weeks, but part-time work means part-time income while medical bills, medications, rent, and groceries keep piling up.

We're asking for help covering:
  • Medical bills and ongoing treatment costs
  • Expensive blood thinners and prescriptions
  • Rent and basic living expenses while she recovers
  • The breathing room (literally) to heal without financial panic

Any amount helps. This is our chance to be her safety net the way she's always been ours.

The doctors say she can make a full recovery, which is good news wrapped in a lot of caveats. She'll need blood thiners, possibly forever, which cost more than seems reasonable for something that's literally keeping her alive. There will be follow-ups for months: scans, prescriptions, appointments with specialists who will poke and prod and tell her things she doesn't want to hear but needs to. She's hoping to go back to work soon, but it'll be part-time at first, which means part-time money while the bills keep arriving in full.

The upside to this ordeal is that there are finally answers. After years of symptoms that didn't add up, there's a diagnosis. A treatment plan. A path forward. She's on the road to recovery, but she can't do it alone. And she shouldn't have to.

If you've ever been on the receiving end of her kindness and generosity, you know exactly why this GoFundMe exists.

Thank you!
