On what seemed like an ordinary day, Ryan Magbanua’s life took a sudden, devastating turn. Ryan, a loving husband to Adele and devoted father to three beautiful children fell critically ill. After being rushed to the emergency room, doctors discovered a blocked bile duct that led to a severe blood infection, causing his body to go into septic shock. Ryan’s condition worsened rapidly, and he suffered a cardiac arrest that caused his heart to stop for a few minutes, resulting in a lack of oxygen to his brain.

For three long weeks, Ryan fought for his life in the Intensive Care Unit. Thanks to the incredible medical team and his will to survive, he has now been moved to a step-down unit and is on his road to recovery. However, the lack of oxygen during his cardiac arrest caused some brain damage, and Ryan faces an uphill battle as he works towards regaining his health.

Ryan is not just a friend to many of us—he is family. He is always there for anyone in need, no matter the time or the request. His selflessness, kindness, and unwavering support have made him like a brother to so many. Now, it’s our turn to be there for him.

Ryan’s recovery will require ongoing medical attention, including specialized physiotherapy, therapies for brain injury recovery, and various other treatments to help him regain as much function as possible. The road ahead will be long, but with the right resources and support, Ryan can continue to fight.
