Help baby Ryan fight Infantile Spasms:
Donation protected
Our names are Dani Gombach and Jessie Bowman and we are organizing this fundraiser on behalf of our best friend, Jenn Lukart's little boy, Ryan.
Ryan has been diagnosed with infantile spasm/seizures, which is an extremely debilitating form of infant epilepsy. His parents, Jenn and Jon, are facing large medical bills and lost wages as they fight to give Ryan the best care possible. We are reaching out to our family, friends, and community for support during this very challenging time.
Jenn is a talented hairdresser and Jon is a dedicated, hardworking union laborer at a local masonry company. They are also parents to 6 year old, Grayson, who was diagnosed with a sensory disorder and speech delay at an early age. Despite their challenges, Jenn and Jon have always worked hard to provide for their family and give Grayson all the care he needs (most of which is out of pocket). However, this new diagnosis will put unprecedented strain on them emotionally and financially.
Ryan's diagnosis began after multiple trips to the pediatrician and even the emergency room. Ryan was eventually admitted into Children Hospital in Pittsburgh on June 18th after experiencing two seizures in the ER. Ryan will remain there until the treatment he needs can safely be continued at home. The medication that Ryan requires costs an astounding $110,000 with a copay of $26,000. While they have been fortunate to secure assistance through the Pharmacudical company who makes the medication, and a one time waiver, most of the cost for the initial medication has been covered this time. The potential treatment costs in combination with lost wages; however, could be devastating.
We are aiming to raise at least $50,000 to cover any medical bills/copays they have/will incur, lost wages due to unpaid time off, and travel expenses for specialized care.
Neither Jenn nor Jon have jobs that offer paid time off. Every day they spend at the hospital it is a day without income. This will undoubtaly take a financial toll on their family.
Your support, no matter how small, can make a huge difference in Ryan's life and his families ability to provide the best possible care.
Please consider donating and sharing with your network of friends. Every share and dollar will make a difference.
We will be sure to provide regular updates on Ryans condition and how your donations are being used. THANK YOU for your generosity and support during this difficult time.
