Hello to all friends, family and (secret) admirers of Ryan Heinke!

my name is Danny Simonik and I’ve had the joy of knowing and loving (& sometimes living with) Ryan since 2018.

From the day we met, I saw Ryan’s incredible drive, talent and creative spirit. In the years since then I’ve experienced his loyalty, silliness, compassion and generosity. I feel deeply lucky to call him my best friend, and to live in community with him. I know there are many others out there who feel the same.

On top of coping with a traumatic brain injury, suffered in 2021, Ryan has had what feels like a tornado of bad luck in the past several months.

It was recently discovered that Ryan’s home of the past 3 years is (very, very) contaminated with black mold, which has, unbeknownst to him been causing a slew of health issues including intense brain fog and chronic fatigue.

As a result Ryan is moving but has had to get rid of the vast majority of his possessions, particularly furniture (couch, mattress, rugs, etc) due to mold contamination.

Now in the process of moving Ryan has suffered a herniated disc which will put him out of work for an indeterminate amount of time. As you can imagine all of this has caused Ryan intense stress.

Our goal is help cover Ryan’s finances for several months, as well as helping him to purchase new furniture, so that he is able to focus on recovery and get back to a healthy baseline.

We love Ryan! And recognize that illness comes for us all, and choose to stand in support of our friend in his moment of need, because we know from experience that he would do the same for any of us.
