For those of you that do not know me, my name is Amanda Long (Bedwell) and my father is Ryan Bedwell. On my birthday, my dad was diagnosed with Metastatic Melanoma.

Back to the beginning.... my dad has been a mechanic his whole life and was seasonally on a lay off. During that time a lady pulled out in front of him, totaling his antique Chevy Impala. After that time, his wrist had started hurting and we thought it was from the accident. When he found new employment he couldnt even make it through half a day without his wrist swelling up, making it impossible to work. He went in for surgery on his wrist at the end of October and they found that one of the bones in his wrist was almost completely demineralized. At the time, we were told it was most likely a bad infection. At his follow-up on November 5th, we were told that there was no infection. The cancer had literally eaten the bone.

November 19th he had an MRI and they found multiple lesions in his brain. PET scan scheduled for November 20th. His wife (and my wonderful step-mom), Tina, has been working to provide what they need but travel and life in general are expensive.
