My name is Ashley. I am a mother of two wonderful children who give me new perspectives about life daily. We enjoy being active in our city, supporting PPS, and shopping locally, all over our city. My career as a children’s therapist is the most fulfilling path I’ve ever been on, and I am committed not only to serving my community, but also I hope to be able to help my loved ones find resources in times of need.
That is why I’m starting a fundraiser for my beautiful friend Ryan. Ryan and her children are family to me, our daughters have grown up together since before they could walk. We have shared the joys of parenting together, but as anyone with children understands, there are many fears and insecurities that come along with the title of being a parent, especially when there isn’t enough money no matter how long your day is and how hard you work.
Ryan is a single parent who has recently run into a series of obstacles that have cost a lot of money, the most major one being her car which is currently in need of repair thanks to a classic Pittsburgh pothole.(I hate that she doesn’t have a car currently.) She works full time, but so do the utility companies when it comes to raising rates on people who are already struggling.
I know that Ryan is hesitant to ask for help, but she is newly single and trying to get on her feet. I’ve known Ryan for 20 years and she is a hardworking person who has ALWAYS supported herself. This is a rough patch and I know that things will be ok once she can catch up from the sudden changes caused by the divorce.
Could you please give a donation of any amount to help my dear friend and her kids get through this summer?
If you know Ryan, you know that she would start a fundraiser for anyone and she would do your makeup for you just to brighten your day. Ryan can hide her depression behind her beautiful smile, and she will still make everyone laugh and feel good. I’ve seen her struggle now for some months, and it breaks my heart.
Thank you for reading this, and for helping my friend Ryan and her children Luella and George.
