Ruth and I have been friends since childhood, sharing memories from elementary and high schools and growing up together in the same church. We even sang on the same youth choir. Even though we now live in different countries, we have remained close friends. Recently, Ruth’s life took an unexpected turn. After helping at a friend’s mother’s funeral, she began experiencing severe migraines. The pain became so intense that her husband, Dean, took her to Andrews Memorial Hospital. There, doctors discovered a brain tumor, and she was quickly transferred to the University Hospital of Jamaica. Ruth is now heavily medicated to prevent further headaches and possible seizures, and her surgery is scheduled for tomorrow, June 23.
The costs for Ruth’s surgery and hospital stay are significant. She had already used much of her savings to support her father during his recent illness, so this new challenge has left her and her family in a difficult financial position. Her friends and loved ones are rallying together, organizing a fish fry and other efforts to help cover the expenses. We’re reaching out to our wider community for support to ensure Ruth receives the care she needs and to ease the burden on her family during this critical time.
Every contribution will go directly toward Ruth’s surgery and hospital bills. Your support will make a real difference as she faces this urgent and life-changing operation. Thank you for standing with Ruth and her loved ones.
